1.  Holding the Heavens   

  •  Stand feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent, arms at your side.
  • Inhale & slowly raise arms in a circular motion above your head.
  • Continue to inhale, rotate hands so they face up, lift up on you toes & hold for 1-2 seconds.
  • Exhale, bringing arms down in circular motion and lowering your heels.
  • Repeat up to 9 times.

 

   Holding the Heavens prepares you for the next seven movements by invigorating the muscles and relaxing the body as a whole. It improves posture by bringing the body's segments into a more virtical alignment.

   It opens and balances the Qi channels to increase blood circulation, improve digestion and promote deeper respiration.
